Using Face Recognition in Hestiaa
Hestiaa Face Recognition helps you enrol faces and identify them in supported camera views and events. The feature is available with Lite and Pro subscriptions, but not on the Free plan.
1. Open Face Recognition
- Open Hestiaa.
- Open the profile or settings menu.
- Select Face Recognition.
- Tap Get Started to begin setting up Face Recognition.
Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed to face enrolment.
2. Enrol a Face
To add a face to Face Recognition:
- Open Face Recognition Management.
- Select Start Camera.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to capture 5–8 photos.
- Follow the prompts to look in different directions, including straight ahead and to either side.
- When prompted, enter a name to identify the person.
- Tap Save and Finish.
Once the face has been added successfully, it appears in the enrolled faces list.
3. View Enrolled Faces
To review enrolled faces:
- Open Face Recognition Management.
- Review the list of enrolled faces.
- Use the available options to manage each entry.
You can add additional faces by selecting the Add option next to an available entry.
4. Remove an Enrolled Face
If you no longer want a face to be recognised:
- Open Face Recognition Management.
- Find the enrolled face you want to remove.
- Select Remove next to that face.
- Follow any on-screen confirmation instructions.
Removing an enrolled face deletes its stored face data from Face Recognition.
5. View Face Recognition in Camera Feeds and Events
When Face Recognition is supported and configured, recognition information may appear in the camera view and associated events.
The live camera interface can display a label identifying a recognised face. Related events may also show recognition information.
For Face Recognition to be available, your subscription must include the feature. It is not available on the Free plan.
Privacy Considerations
Face Recognition uses stored face data to support recognition. Only enrol faces when appropriate, and remove an enrolled face when you no longer want its data retained for this feature.
