Elderly Monitoring
Stay connected with elderly family members when you cannot be in the same room. Hestiaa lets you use a compatible spare smartphone as a monitoring camera, so you can check the camera view remotely from another compatible device.
No dedicated camera hardware is required. Hestiaa uses the built-in camera of a compatible smartphone.

How Elderly Monitoring Works
- Choose a spare smartphone: Use a compatible phone with a working camera.
- Set up Hestiaa: Install and configure the app on the devices as instructed.
- Position the phone: Place it securely in a suitable location where the camera can show the intended area.
- Check remotely: Use another compatible device to access the supported camera view when you are away.
Availability and performance depend on device compatibility, app functionality and network connectivity.

FAQ
Do I need to buy a separate monitoring camera?
No dedicated camera hardware is required. Hestiaa is designed to use the built-in camera of a compatible smartphone.
Can I check on my family member when I am away?
You can access the supported camera view remotely when the app, devices and network connection support it.
Can Hestiaa detect falls or medical emergencies?
Fall detection is currently not support, and is work in progress. Do not rely on Hestiaa as a fall-detection, medical-alert or emergency-response system unless those specific functions are explicitly supported and verified.
Does elderly monitoring replace in-person care?
No. Phone-based monitoring can help you check a space remotely, but it does not replace appropriate supervision, personal care or emergency services.
What if the phone loses power or internet access?
Remote viewing may become unavailable. Keep the phone powered, check its connectivity and do not rely on the system as your only way to check on someone's safety.
